La Legion D'Honneur

The Government of France has decided to honour those Service men who were involved in the Normandy Landings and the wider campaigns to liberate France by awarding those who survive the Legion D'Honneur.

The honour is not restricted to those brave souls who landed on the beach a fought valiantly 70 years ago, but also includes those from the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force who acted in support of those campaigns.

The Ministry of Defence is coordinating the application process which sadly will not be awarded posthumously.
